Six years ago, we were lucky enough to help a dear friend of ours purchase her first home in the hills of Ashmore. Today she’s on a plane heading off on the adventure of a lifetime – Canada, New York, then where ever the wind blows her.
It wasn’t an overnight decision. In fact, it was one she carefully considered. Coming to us for advice on whether she should sell or hold to make this trip happen. We talked through the pros and cons, what her needs were and how a possible sale would play out in the current market.
She opted for freedom. Selling all of her belongings. Selling her home.
Em’s story is a bit of a grounding one for us and a timely reminder that property is not the be-all and end-all; it is simply a means to get you where you want to go.
So, go get ’em, tiger. Life is short. Buy the property. Sell the investment property. At the end of the day, it’s just a property, and if you buy well and sell well, you’ll do well. The most important thing is that you’re doing what’s right for YOU.
Our most precious commodity is time. Let’s not spend so much time and energy acquiring and possessing that we neglect what we’ll wish we had more of — laughter, joy, love, and healthy relationships with the people we love.
