She opted for freedom. Selling all of her belongings. Selling her home.

6 years ago we were lucky enough to help a dear friend of ours purchase her first home in the hills of Ashmore. Today she’s on a plane heading off on the adventure of a life time - Canada, New York then where ever the wind blows her.

It wasn’t an overnight decision, in-fact it was one she carefully considered. Coming to us for advice on whether she should sell or hold to make this trip happen. We talked through the pro’s and con’s, what her needs were and how a possible sale would play out in the current market.

Em’s story is a bit of a grounding one for us and a timely reminder that property is not the be all and end all, it is simply a means to get you where you want to go.

So Eva, go get em tiger. Life is short. Buy the property. Sell the property. At the end of the day, it’s just a property and if you buy well and sell well, you’ll do well. The most important thing is that you’re doing what’s right for YOU.

Our most precious commodity is time. Let’s not spend so much time and energy acquiring and possessing that we neglect what we’ll wish we had more of — laughter, joy, love, and healthy relationships with the people we love.

Happy holidays

Ps.. Oh and if you’re wondering how Em’s property performed - everyone loves to see the numbers stack up - we helped her purchase it in 2012 for $355,000 and she sold it 6 years later with our help (with no major renovations, just a lick of paint, a few minor cosmetic improvements and a garden spruce prior to selling) for a tidy $580,000.

Informed decision going into it, informed decision going out of it. No sweat!

With 17 good local selling agents to choose from in Em’s neck of the woods, we knew that selecting the right one was the key to getting the best result. If you’re thinking about making a move in property in the new year - let’s chat.
